    SIMLOB

Download the Lobster Fishery Bio-economic Simulation Model SIMLOB!

I am currently exploring the best way to distribute the lobster fishery simulation model SIMLOB.   The SIMLOBzip1.zip file at the bottom of this page contains all of the files that you need to use SIMLOB.  Please let me know if you have a problem using this program.

SIMLOB is a lobster fishery bio-economic simulation model.  It requires Microsoft Excel 97 or later and MS Access 97 or later to run.  The folder below contains the three essential parts of SIMLOB in zipped files.  They are simlob.mdb, the database files for SIMLOB; Simlobgraph, the MS Excel program that displays the results of SIMLOB; and Simlob.exe, the actual model that simulates the fishery.  The folder also includes necessary DLL files.  To install SIMLOB, download the Simlobzip1 file and unzip it into a C:\simlob directory, which you will have to create on your computer. After you have unzipped it, double click on simlobgraph to start the display program.  It will open with a sample output file which you can use to explore the different dispay options.  When you want to run your own simulation, you can start the SIMLOB modeling program (simlob.exe) by clicking on "File," "Run Simlob" from Simlobgraph.  After running a simulation using simlob.exe, you must return to Simlobgraph and import the data from your model run, by clicking on "File," "Import Simlob Data," and choosing the output file that you created.

Additional instructions can be found in the "Instructions for SIMLOB" file below.

This method of distributing SIMLOB is currently under development.  Please email Dick Allen at rba@FisheryConsulting.com, or call him at (401) 789-1463 if you have questions about downloading or using SIMLOB.
